This project uses a custom AI diffusion model, fine-tuned on imagery from G Magazine — the iconic Brazilian gay erotic publication that was groundbreaking in the 90s and early 00s. The idea is to bring that distinct queer visual aesthetic into the space of generative art, pulling something from a specific historical moment and making it live again in a contemporary context. By training Stable Diffusion on this material, the project works to preserve and reactivate a really important piece of queer Latin cultural history — one that might otherwise fade into obscurity — and make it relevant for new audiences. It's as much about representation and memory as it is about the technology itself; getting this kind of imagery and identity into AI art workflows matters.
